The Centre brings together people from across the University and beyond,whose research examines ways that risks can be better managed and decision making improved. In a number of cases it operates to link researchers mainly based in other centres that have risk management as a theme in some or all of their research. Sharing experience and evaluating techniques from different fields enables our researchers to create links between professions and subject areas. The taught programmes benefit enormously from this shared vision, which ensures that student's learning is grounded in real world problems and experience. Student research itself is important to the development of the subject area within the University and in the workplace. Links to graduates enable us all to continue the exchange of opinion, information and experience that is so important to us as an academic community.
