Middlesex University

Our Media Department is vibrant and rapidly expanding, with courses ranging from hands-on degrees in Television Production to PhD research into the future of media within our Lansdown Centre.

The media provision is taught at our Trent Park / Cat Hill campus (near Oakwood tube), in a leafy London suburb, but close enough to Central London for us to take full advantage of our excellent links with industry.

From September 2011, the Media Department will be based at the Hendon Campus.

Visiting speakers and work placements form an integral part of our programmes, with weekly Media and Work talks from industry, and regular Lansdown lectures.

Our Trent Park campus is home to a broadcast-standard TV studio complex; while our Cat Hill campus has a state of the art Digital Media Workshop.

You can take undergraduate degrees in: BA Television Production; Television Journalism; Television Technical Arts (awaiting validation); Film, Video and Interactive Arts; Journalism and Communication; Creative and Media Writing; Film Studies and Publishing and Media; and Media and Cultural Studies.

Our staff are experienced professional practitioners and published researchers in their fields.

We have an MA in Media Communications Management at Trent Park, which attracts students from all around the world. Our MA in Design for Interactive Media and MA in Moving Image are both at Cat Hill.

If you are already working in the media industry, you can use your professional experience to gain a BA or an MA in Professional Practice.

Graduates from our courses are working in all areas of the Media industries, as scriptwriters, documentary producers, web and games designers, video makers, camera, sound and studio operators, researchers, journalists, directors and producers.
